'God break's the heart again and again until it stays open'

This illustration is inspired by the quote from Hazrat Inayat Khan which I stumbled upon reading an article by David Starlyte titled 'Breaking Open the heart.'

The Article talks about how healing and transformation begins by letting our hearts be open. Although being vulnerable can bring great pain, it also allows entry for compassion, love and unsuspected strength. Especially if you allow yourself to let go and become part of the conscious collective stream of your surroundings. 

This imagery inspired me to illustrate the image of a woman opening her chest and letting herself flow into the stream of external consciousness.
